I want to express my deep gratitude to my friend, Peter Rowan,
who made this CD possible, to J.D. Crowe for his support and advice,
to Fred Foster who has been a mentor over the years, and to all of these great
musicians who brought the songs to life.
Arthur Hancock
This project is a tribute to the great horse Sunday Silence, who won the
Kentucky Derby, Preakness and other major races in 1989, who was named HORSE
OF THE YEAR and who is now the world's leading stallion.
The artist, Kentuckian Arthur Hancock, has bred and owned two Kentucky Derby
winners and has been playing bluegrass music since he was eleven years old.
After graduating from Vanderbilt University, he became a Monument recording
artist where a song he penned and sang, "What of Tomorrow," went to #1 in
Greenville, South Carolina and Minneapolis, St Paul. Arthur was one of the
first artists to record one of Kris Kristofferson's songs and Arthur has had
his own songs recorded by Ray Price, Grandpa Jones and others.

"His songs are for his family, echoing life's hope and experience. These
songs are written from the heart, not picked from a batch of demos trying
for generic airplay. Just good o'¹ back porch music. Thanks Arthur, for
letting me share in the fun."
- Sam Bush
"It is a very well-presented package with an
extraordinary set of supporting artists."
